Our Life Together

We believe God has called each of us to be a part of the People of God. We're young and
old, single or with families; we've come from many different backgrounds and actively belong to different denominations. We share a similar vision of God's call in our lives ...TO BE HIS
PEOPLE ... and have committed our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and to one another through a relationship of covenant love

Location

Geographically, the People of God is located in the center of Pittsburgh, PA with various
expressions of our life and outreach in different parts of town. While our lives together do include various expressions, the single-family lifestyle is the most common way of life. However, the desire
for living in the same neighborhoods seems to characterize much of the Lord's direction for many of
our members

Community Gatherings

The People of God General Community Gatherings are open to all. We welcome all who would
come to join us in our prayer and worship of the Lord. Click here for more information

Formation

The People of God join together for worship and teach at district prayer meetings and
community gatherings. Initally, we attend "A New Way of Living" course which serves as our introduction to the Christian life. We are further fed on God's Word and Wisdom by completing
seven "Foundations for Christian Living" courses which include: Basic Spirituality, Family Life, Single Life, Christian Personal Relationships, Healthy Christian Emotional Life, Men's and Women's Roles
and Our Life and Roles within the People of God. We are divided into smaller men's and women's groups which gather weekly for pastoral care, to share our lives more deeply to serve and pray for
one another.

Fellowship

Evangelization & Service

The People of God has two major directions in our Outreach -- Evangelization and Service.
Through evangelization we seek to bring the Good News of the Gospel, and the witness of our life as brothers and sisters, to people in the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area. This is accomplished through our Prayer Meetings, University Christian Outreach and Social Outings. We also sponsor Christian Concerts, Conferences and Rallies

Through service we seek to further the goals of the local, regional and national Charismatic
Renewal. This is accomplished by providing leadership, service teams, speakers and participants
in a wide scope of activities

The People of God is a member community of The Sword of the Spirit, an international
association of ecumenical covenant communities
