Camp Policies

Parents, Campers, and Staff should familiarize themselves with the camp policies prior to camp starting to ensure a safe, fun week honoring to the Lord.

Electronics

Cell phones, iPods, iPads, and handheld video games should be left at home. We have found that these items can interfere with promoting the building of relationships with one another at camp and with the Lord. They can become an unnecessary distraction throughout the week.

Modesty

We strive to honor God and show respect for others in all we do. We care very much about your child's dignity and modesty. Therefore, we ask that you follow these guidelines while packing their clothes.

  • Girls' tops: No undergarments should be showing (i.e., bra straps or any part of the bra). Midriff and chest should be fully covered.

  • Boys' tops: No tank tops or sleeveless shirts

  • Girls' bottoms:  Bottom should be fully covered (while sitting, while being active); shorts should be no higher than the middle of the thigh. Dresses & skirts should be modest/comfortable while standing or sitting, so no shorter than 1-2 inches above the knee.

  • Boys' bottoms: Full length athletic shorts that cover the thigh (or comparable)

  • Girls' bathing suits: Modest 1-piece suits are required

  • Boys' bathing suits: Modest swim trunks - no speedos

Clearances

Every adult staff member is required to have the appropriate clearances to work with youth as outline by PA and their place of residence (these typically include a current criminal and child abuse clearance).

We also require adult staff to complete the POG Child Protection Policy (CPP) training (first time staff is 2 parts: 1 during the online training and then Sunday morning at camp; returning staff is Sunday morning at camp only)

Important: Please submit clearances by June 1, 2024

***Please send any clearance copies that you either have/ or receive to Sue Logan at peopleofGodPgh@outlook.com  - she is very generously tracking these things for us.
